I just finished listening to this song about 5 seconds ago and thought it was just gorgeous! You are such a talented group; I can't help but have a feeling of excitement in my soul for you guys! There's something in your humble manner that reminds me of King David. He was a nobody, and God blessed him more than I'm sure David could have ever imagined. God loves the humble and blesses them richly for it. I've been praying for your family and each time have had a sudden spring of excitement come over me that excites me! I just have to giggle! Let God continue to lead and He promises to lead you into places that reach infinitely farther than your wildest dreams. I'm so excited for you all! Really and truly. Even if this Jars of Clay thing goes nowhere, God WILL take you to mountaintops where He reveals to you His glorious splendor! Praise Jesus! I thank Him for you all. I hardly know you and yet I feel like I've just met a family that will shake the world....I want to be a part of it! Keep going!
is composed of seven members of the Ramsey family. The Ramseys moved from the suburbs of Dallas, TX to tiny Winnsboro, TX in 1997. The building of their three story farmhouse commenced and they set up house in a two room pole barn nearby, beginning the greatest adventure of their lives.
It was during the two and a half years spent beneath that tin roof that Samuel and Emma started writing songs together. Samuel took up his Dad's guitar and Emma scribbled her thoughts on any piece of paper she could find. They moved into the new house in January of 1999 and the journey into music continued. They kept writing songs. James built himself a drum-set with K'nex, tupperware, and a practice pad and hi-hat. Johanna began to sing.
Then Sam came into a guitar of his own. James got a real drum-set. They began to share their songs with the world around them. They had their first concert at a tiny Methodist Church. Over the next eight years Samuel started playing the piano and group added bass and electric guitars to the mix. Grace and Sarah Anne took piano and violin lessons. James picked up the cello. Johanna learned the bass guitar.
In 2007, their first CD, recorded at home, was finally released.
And the so music goes on... interfering with the atmosphere.
